My writing career began when I was about four years old and discovered the manual typewriter in my father’s office. At least, it was a toy to distract me while he chatted with colleagues in the faculty lounge; at best, it was the vehicle that inspired my first complete work, a poem entitled, “I’m Daddy’s Little Darling.” (It remains unpublished.)
